There's so many pretentious reviews about this place....I figured I'd give it a good honest one! My first reaction when they put this place in was "oh look, ANOTHER pizza place in Sugarhouse". With Salt Lake Pizza & Pasta (not very good!) across the street, Flatbread next door, and Este not too far away I wasn't sure how Mellow Mushroom could compete. Even so, I purchased a Groupon to the place and walked over there with my boyfriend last night. The interior of the place is huge, clean, and pretty fun. We were immediately sat at a table and our friendly waitress Ruth greeted us. When we couldn't decide on a pitcher of beer, she offered us a sample to help make the choice easier (so awesome!). All the pitchers run $13, which is perfectly reasonable for great beer. My boyfriend ordered the 10" buffalo pizza and I ordered the 10" veggie pizza. They both came out in a good amount of time and were steaming hot. With just a few bites of pizza, we both agreed that it was AWESOME and totally different from the other pizza places in the area that we love. The crust reminded us of The Pie...but without the overwhelming amount of greasy bubblegum cheese. Some people have complained about the price, but for $13 I got a pizza that stuffed me for dinner and is feeding me again for lunch today. I'd say that's a great deal! As a final note, I'd just like to say how much we liked our waitress. She was friendly, attentive, and did an all around awesome job. If you go there, sit in Ruth's section!

That mushroom was WAY too mellow for my liking. I came here with my dad to try and see if this place held a candle to the Flat-Bread Neapolitan place next door, or SL Pizza & Pasta across the street and it did NOT. I have to say it all came down to the really poor service! Let me sum up our experience for you: - Ordered food and drinks, took almost 20 minutes for the appetizers to come out and the mushroom soup was cold. Asked for it to be taken back and it took another 10+ minutes to get the new bowl. For a soup that is listed ON the menu, that is not ok. - Ordered beer: well, tried to but our server bounced before I could put my order in. During said 20+ minutes of waiting for our appetizers, I flagged a server down, as ours had not been around at all, to request the beer. She asked if that was in a bottle or on tap. Ok, now this may seem harsh, but for a place that only has few beers on tap, and for being a server, I hope you know what I am ordering and that I don't have to point out and explain what I am ordering from the menu. She then had to grab my original server to get the order, again, so I was thoroughly unimpressed. - Accident in the dining room: a server dropped 2 bowls of mushroom soup, sending it flying onto the purse and coat of the lady at the table next to us. The servers, rather than trying to clean up the personal belongings of this woman proceed to try to clean the floor, leaving the purse WITH SOUP ON IT! The gal picked up her purse to show it to the table and the parties started waiving their arms to the seemingly oblivious bartender that they needed a wet washcloth. The servers when attending this issue seemed to have been taking the name of the restaurant to heart as they were FAR TOO MELLOW when dealing with this. NOT TO MENTION: the MANAGER, who was in the place, did not ONCE, go over to apologize for the mess or address the issue. - Food: Meh, I've experienced better. - Decor: Tacky, over the top, and hokey. I unfortunately will not be going back to this establishment. Poor service just gets no stars from me... the only saving grace was the pizza, which they put right on the cool table top, not even offering us a pizza stand like the others. Not getting a passing grade from this pizza loving gal!

It's all in the name, and this place is definitely mellow. The decor is great for a place called the mellow mushroom... They've got a ton of good beers in the bottle and a long list of beers on tap. My gripe for beer would be that they are rarely all in stock. After my 4th visit, I have still never been able to try the beer I order first. Food is great! The pizzas are original and the flavors have all been delicious. I live their crust! Whole wheat is the way to go. At this point I am leaning toward the red potato pizza...sounds weird, I know, but damn it if it isn't mouth wateringly good!! Give them a try!

I think Sugarhouse is turning into pizza row! There are now three pizza places within seconds from each other which is pretty funny. The construction going on in front of this place stinks and it's confusing to try and figure out how to get in but once you find it, you're golden. The decor here is awesome! It smells so fresh and so clean because it's new. It was packed when we went but we were seated right away by the window. I like the fact that they have window seating. Once the construction is done, it will be a nice place to people watch. They have a little room with curtains around it that you can rent for a private party which is pretty cool. It's very bright and there are a lot of employees to help you out. Just a note, if you order beer here, they are going to make you order a stupid appetizer before they bring it to you. It's a stupid rule and just a ploy for them to sell more food. I will say that their beer selection is top notch though! They also offer a full bar. We ordered the pretzels with mustard which were pretty tasty. I ordered the magical mystery tour and my other party got the buffalo chicken. The pizza was good but not mind blowing. I think The Pie is still the best pizza in town. I do want to come back here and try their tempeh and tofu hoagies though, I think those will probably be better than the pizza. Overall it was a good experience. I think the location is great and adding more options to Sugarhouse is never a bad thing. I also like the fact that they offer vegetarian/vegan options on the menu.

Service-amazing Food-incredible Location-fantastic Atmosphere-fun and energetic Seriously I can't wait to come back to Utah to eat here again!!! Has a laid back stoner theme (which I thought I'd hate but was quite awesome) with a great staff. Especially Kurtis!!! Great guy and one of the best servers I've ever had (and I used to serve food myself) a must try if eating in SLC, UT

So--45 min wait for a table BUT well worth it!! The servers and mgmt staff busted ass to clean a table for our party and that was awesome! Appetizers--OMG! Delish Pizza--delish Cookie....I am so full but it too was delish! This is a new place to the Sugar House area. I'm not gonna say everything was perfect....that wouldn't be a fair assessment. What was perfect was the small things or hiccups were quickly corrected, the staff was very personable and we met Judy--she was simply AWESOME. We'll be back so keep our spot warm

Decided to try the Mellow Mushroom as it's the newest entry into the pizzeria arena. However this weak national-franchise lacks the knock-out it's competitors easily dish out. Mellow Mushroom features varying pizzas, calzones, hoagies, and vast array of beer/liquor. They have a lot of tvs around the restaurant playing sports games, and the service was far beyond par. From my visit I selected the House Special pizza (basically supreme). I have to say I wasn't impressed. The toppings were plentiful, however I wasn't a fan of having whole slices of tomato that make it difficult to bite. The pizza crust had a nice blend of chewy & crunchy quality that tasted a lot like a frozen Diogiornos pizza. Because of that, I rather spend $5.00 on that, then a $11+ Mellow Mushroom pizza. That being said, Mellow Mushroom is fighting a battle it may loose. There's better pizza restaurants (even across the street), that not only deserve your dollar but also your taste buds!

Great pizza with lots of selections. Their pizzas are reasonably priced. Went twice. Once on a Tuesday and once on a Friday. Had to wait about 30 minutes on a Friday, but it was well worth it. Friendly staff and great food!

I thoroughly enjoyed the "Mellow" atmosphere, but the pizza wasn't great, we had a gluten free option to share, and it tasted like a cracker, that's after the first pizza came out as the wrong one. I understand mistakes happen, but we were one of five guests in the restaurant, I didn't understand how it happened, we were there for over 45 minutes before we finally got the right pizza, and again, it wasn't great. Not all of it was bad, the decor was super chill, and the Spinach Artichoke dip was quite literally the yummiest I've ever had. So there is that. But still not worth the 45 minute wait! Uhhh, probably won't go again. Ps. It was $35 for ONE PIZZA, ONE APPETIZER, TWO SODAS. Not including a tip. Wayyy overpriced.

Ok honestly the whole time in there I felt like I was at Joe's Crab shack. The servers here sport tie-dye shirts and the place has a lot of cheesy flair. Two stars, one is for the service including those cool guys in back tossing pizza's in the air. For how busy this place is, everybody is hustling. Second star is for the gluten free items that makes it easy for people with allergies to eat here. My cheese and steak calazone was really doughy. The dough was like a wheat dough. Not really tasty and the inside lacked cheese and steak. What I did have of it had no flavor. The salads look good. Hoagies are huge but again not flavorful. Place is family orientated so expect children running all over the place. It's not my jam but seems like people love it. Think of Chuckie Cheese for adults.

It's a pretty darn good pizza chain. The food was quite tasty. We ordered the muffuletta bread, which I expected to be on pizza dough and garlicy and cheesy, just with olive tapenade, too. But it was on french bread, and had very little cheese on it. As the wife said, it should have been a separate order on the menu from the "garlic bread" and "cheese bread" which it was clumped in with. The tapenade was nice, not too pungent, and the bread was nicely toasted with a good, dense texture. I also got the mushroom soup, which was fun. It was thick, maybe even pureed mushrooms, with a nice cheese and a few big, whole mushrooms. The wife got the Magical Mystery Tour, and it was indeed magical -- a nice blend of umami, sharp, acid, and spicy flavors all piled on top of a pretty decent crust loaded with tons of pesto. The feta and the jalapenos worked surprisingly well with the mushroom/pesto/mozzarella flavors. And I got the "Spiked Sausage" hoagie, containing sausage grilled with Rogue beer, onions, peppers, cheese and garlic aioli. Sort of grinder-meets-cheesesteak, it was tasty and large (on the same bread as the muffuletta), but I could detect no discernible Rogue beer taste. Can they not buy it in Utah? It's also nice that so much of their menu is vegetarian, vegan (or can be made vegan), and even gluten free. That's pretty unique for a place that also seems to cater to families, office parties, sports nuts, and beer drinkers. But as I said, it's still a chain. And it's got some "chain" proclivities. Like lighting that's just a bit too bright for a night time dinner (the servers fiddled with it, dimmed it down, then brought it up to what seemed to be even brighter). And serving food on plastic plates. (Really?) And hosts who don't quite know their jobs (why try to seat everyone in the nasty back room with the boring chairs where window seats, booths, and high back tables with views of the Ute game were available). And servers who don't know how to pour wine (always serve the lady first, even if the guy tastes). And servers who apparently have been instructed to announce their names at the beginning and end of the meal ("My name is ___ by the way, and I'd be happy to serve you again." You would? Glad to know I wasn't such a horrible patron that you'd refuse to take my order in the future.) And jumping on the bandwagon and claiming "we use local ingredients," when there's absolutely no way that cheese, those summer vegetables, and that salad dressing can be local. (It's fine to "feature" local ingredients and tell us what dishes use them; just don't imply that it's a locavore restaurant.) And outrageous pricing for local beer. ($16 for a Spiral Jetty that's $4 in the liquor store and $8 or, at most, $10 elsewhere? $11 for an Elefino? You gotta be kidding.) Also, watch out for soda prices -- almost $3. But, ironically, they have 2 bottles of wine for less than $20, and many for less than $30. Those nits, plus the fact that so much construction is going on outside that there's more chain link fencing than a minimum security prison, lose a star, maybe a star and a half, for me. But as I said, it's a pretty darn good pizza chain. I think I'd still choose Flatbread next door, or From Scratch downtown, if I wanted the best pie (unless I want to watch a game on one of their many TVs, or we want to go out with my gluten free friend), but it's not a bad option.

Atmosphere was nice and out server had a pleasant personality but man are they slow. She was waiting at the bar just standing there while we sat there finished for 10 minutes. Pizza was alright. We had the potato which was great and the equivalent of the Canadian bacon and it was awful. No flavor. Mushy pineapple. Not worth it.

Mellow Mushroom has an uphill battle for a few reasons. 1- There are roughly 317 pizza joints within a 5 mile radius of this location. 2- It's a chain. 3- There are approximately 117 places to get a cold beer within a 2 mile radius of this location. 4- It's a chain. 5- There are LOTS of dining and drinking choices in this neighborhood. With all of those obstacles, Mellow Mushroom had better be something special. It's not. This is a decent pizza place with an oversize menu and inflated prices. The craft beers are way too expensive. $6.00+ for a bottle of anything worth drinking is too steep for a pizza chain. The selection is good, but overpriced for sure. The salads are mostly "build-it-yourself" style and are way overpriced. With all that being said, we came for the pizza. So, how's the pizza? It's alright. I had the house special, which is basically a combo pizza with lots of toppings. The crust was good; it was thick crust, but not too thick. It was cooked just right, so it had a nice crunch around the edges. Nothing special, but passable. The sauce was fine. A bit sweet for my tastes, but I'm sure some folks like it that way. The toppings were fresh, but not overly abundant, especially for the relatively high prices. I wasn't wowed by the pizza at all, and I wouldn't rate it in my top 20 in SLC. In fact, I can think of 5 better pizzas within a 3 minute walk from here. With so many great dining/drinking options in Sugarhouse, I'm afraid Mellow Mushroom doesn't have a recipe for success.

I don't usually eat mushrooms on my pizza, but when I do I eat Holy Shiitake. First time here, we ordered a small Holy Shiitake! pizza. My dining companion was blown away by the pizza and wanted to try it as a calzone, as a pasta, as a shake - she wanted Holy Shiitake in any form she could get it. Myself I was really surprised how much I liked the pizza. The garlic aioli sauce added little explosions to the occasional bite. A small fed 2 of us and would have been $12.99. We also ordered a cheese calzone, but didn't have room for more than one bite of it. It was huge. The marinara dip was flavorful. The calzone tasted even better reheated in the oven later that night. They serve pizza by the slice during lunch.

We love this place! We are there at least once a week...the gluten free pizza is amazing and I don't even need to eat gluten free I just love the crust. Outstanding customer service and great atmosphere!! We live about 35 mins out of SLC but make the trip just to eat and chill at MM :) A must try you won't regret it!

To start off... I don't really care for pizza. Just not my thing. My friends wanted to go here, so I was out-voted. I'm so glad I was! Wow, this place is so good! I got the Maui Wowie-great choice for non-traditional pizza lovers. It was perfection! Since then, I've tried their bruschetta, spinach artichoke dip and the stuffed portobello mushroom and have yet to be disappointed! Keep doing what you're doing Mellow Mushroom!

One of the newer places in the former Sugarhole, this one is perhaps best described as "corporate hippie", in that you have a lot of peace symbols, mushroom-themed decor and some neat ski motifs and jam bands on the overheads, but it's all unfortunately soulless, with the gleaming tables and the aforementioned peace symbol done up in chrome. They had lots of big screens also, thankfully. Parking is evidently in the garage only (and maybe the lot south of 2100 S.), so parking behind the construction barricades along Highland is impossible, given the absence of those barrels. The parking garage features some nice breakneck inclines, declines and curves, so I wouldn't be too surprised to see some vehicle damage in there during the colder months. They also have ticket machines, so at some point (but not now), you will get the privilege of paying, if you elect to come to any of those places and use the sheltered parking. The most unfortunate part about this place, which is a fairly comfortable, if off-putting space, is that the food is very substandard. The pretzels, which came with a very overpriced (and borderline disgusting) beer cheese, were basically molded breadsticks and not remotely proper pretzels. They were also made of the same dough as the pizza crust itself, which is some sort of very heavy whole wheat dough, the very essence, in fact, of the proverbial gut-bomb. The other sauces that came with the pretzels were a yellow mustard (yay, Plochman's! /sarcasm) and what I was told was their pizza sauce, which was heavily over-sugared and inedible. As to those pizzas, my wife got about halfway through a small and gave up, as the crust proved too much. I (stupidly) soldiered through the whole thing of a Maui Wowie, which featured some staggeringly poor portioning (I like banana peppers as much as anybody, but not to the exclusion of everything else - especially if they're not drained first, as these weren't) and some very under-seasoned jerk chicken. This also needed a lot more bacon and more (preferably drained) pineapple and the pesto got completely lost. So both were big misses for us and something I probably wouldn't order again. In fact, given how little I liked the red sauce, I'm not sure I would consider going here again. I would neither pay for parking to go here nor would I consider waiting at all to get in. This was a place I was mostly ambivalent about, but the restaurant papered the area with $10 coupons, which sort of talked us into it. As underwhelming as this was, it is still, far and away, the best pizza place in the immediate area of Sugarhouse...it is not the best pizza in that immediate area, though. That honor goes to Whole Foods deli counter...service was overall friendly and pretty decent, which sort of nudged this up from the 2.5 where I was leaning.

Ok, The pizza alone deserves 5 stars. It is amazing. The only downside is that it takes a while to get your food, but really it's totally worth the wait. Last time I was there I had a really odd server, that I grew to appreciate while he served us. He was a character, that is for sure, but he did his job well, and when the chefs left the mushrooms on my pizza he gave me a free cookie to make up for it. I will definitely be returning, if only for the crust of this delicious pizza. Seriously though, if they can make someone who is not crazy about crust eat every last bite of a pizza... they deserve the 5 stars.

We stopped if for some pizza goodness on a Sunday afternoon. I am always excited to find places open on a Sunday, so that was already going in their favor. When we got inside, it was like an upscale hippy ski stop. The wooden mushroom decor is quite lovely. The atmosphere was very inviting and warm. Our server was flat amazing. She was attentive, but not obtrusive, friendly, and willing to offer menu recommendations. We got the 1/2 Maui Wowie and 1/2 red skin potato pie. Both were amazing. And the best part, you can half and half any of the pizzas, regardless of the base sauce. The waitress warned us that because each pie is made to order, that it would take a little time, but much to our surprise, the pizza was out pretty quick. And, it was delicious. They have a perfect texture for the crust. The crust combined with intense flavors really make this pizza special. Did, i mention they have cider on tap? Red's Apple Ale by the pitcher! Be still my heart! This is my new go to for happy hour. I am in love with Mellow Mushroom.

Do yourself a favor and go to Este pizzeria around the corner, or even Pizza Hut down the street. The service was horrible, and the pizza was just as bad, if not worse. The only thing this place has going for it, is the beer selection.

I had the gluten-free, vegan pizza here. It's not advertized, but the GF, vegan pizza is also soy-free. The crust is soy-free and they use Daiya mozarella cheese (dairy, casein, nut, and soy-free cheese). It was super delicious, but a little too pricey for me to come back regularly; just my medium-sized pizza was nearly $30. The regular items seem to be priced pretty normally, though. My husband got a (regular) personal-sized pepperoni and added red peppers. He said it's his new favorite pizza, AND it reheated well, so like win-win.

We tried the Maui Waui pizza and it was delish! Best of all was the Led Zeppelin music in the background. The restaurant has a 70's decor. I'll be back.

Honestly, I don't understand the 1-star and 2-star reviews! Maybe they were plants from the neighboring pizza restaurants? Bottom line: If you want a Very Different Taste in your Pizza, the Mellow Mushroom is the place. Eating out as much as I do, I have come to familiarize myself with good, better and best ingredients. From what I can taste, the Mellow Mushroom has excellent ingredients! I've tried a pizza, a hoagie, a calzone and a stuffed mushroom. I wasn't a fan of the stuffed mushroom, but that's mostly due to me. The other items are Fantastic. The secret is....the crust. A completely different experience and one well worth the trip to Mellow Mushroom. Besides...they validate parking and their neighbors don't.

Ok, my pizza was $26.50. It was gluten free and had vegan cheese. The prices for this were not on the menu since if they were, I would have just ordered a salad. It was only a 12 inch btw. By comparison a regular 12 inch was $13. Gouging central, $4 charge for vegan cheese, total bs. I can buy a whole package of that at expensive whole foods for thy price. Now listen, a side salad, my pizza....$35 with tax. For myself. My dinner was tasty, not $40 with tip tasty. For regular pizza the prices seemed more fair only if you didn't order additional toppings. If you have a big spending budget, go for it. If you have food allergies, it was a nice treat but too expensive to re visit. Cool atmosphere and the beer list was big if you like beer with your pizza. Just be ready to drop coin. 3 12 inch pizzas (with some leftovers) 2 beers, 2 side salads, about 90$ with tip. I'm not kidding.

This place is hopping on Saturday nights! Right away I could tell the atmosphere was fun (but along with fun comes a lot of noise). The waitress was very friendly and quick to take our order after giving us some time with the menu. There's an option for everyone on their menu. You've got pizzas, calzones, salads, and Tom Haverford's favorite apps and zerts. The hummus and pita bread was great to munch on before our medium sized House Special pizza came out. The pieces are BIG! We would have been well off with a small for two. It was delicious pizza and I was excited to box up the leftovers. The waitress was always on top of drink refills. It's nice to never have to chew on the ice. I will definitely visit Mellow Mushroom again and I've already recommended it to friends.

The Methow Mushroom,'s decor is awesome, creative, and Utah. It's all in the details. From the ski lift seating waiting area to the rainbow evergreen lights and the Sky Tram seating area. There's so much to see all over the restaurant. They have a full bar and a wide selection of beers and ales from all over served in a chilled glass, which is a plus for me. The tie-dyed server, Cherisa, was pleasant. She read the beer menu with me when I ordered, just to make sure she got it right. Accuracy is important. We ordered the caprise for am appetizer. It was decorated like little hearts or butterflies (Awww) and tasted really fresh. My wife eats Gluten Free, and the GF pizzas were priced at the medium size, which was $10 over the small. Her small Kosmic Karma was $21.50. My small WITH sausage was $13. A bit excessive for sensitive people in my opinion. The food was still delicious and fresh.

Got the vegetarian pizza done vegan and was way dissappinted. Soo expensive for something super simple and bland. Way too many other good pizza options in this area to ever want to stop at this franchised house of mediocre pie.

  • Maestro L.

somewhat overpriced. Had the chichen wings, avocado sandwich, and 10" white pizza. Pretty much all flavorless food which is a problem with franchise joints. Beer was a bit pricey. I will say the pizza crust was cooked perfect to bad it lacked any wiff of flavor.

To be honest, it's hard for me to be fair on this review since I'm already biased with my opinion that Sugarhouse already has enough pizza places (SLC Pizza & Pasta, Neopolitan, Whole Foods, and even Wasatch has pizza). Take what you will from this review. FYI, parking is a pain in the ass for now just because of construction, so not their fault. What worked for me was parking behind "The Habit" and walking into the restaurant from the back in that alley that leads to 21st south. The atmosphere is fun and creative...but also ironic to me. The atmosphere seems more family oriented.. until they realize it's all made around the theme of being high haha (come on, even the menu has plenty of jabs at being high). Jokes aside, not exactly a date-worthy place with the bright colors, standing mascots and plastic plates you'd find in a food court. The service was great, so no complaints from there! At least from my one-time trip I just made out to try the place. Friendly and informative. Nice to let me know that the pizza takes time to cook (since it's cooked differently) so they recommended which items to get to avoid waiting hungry the whole time. The food is good, but overpriced. The dough took some getting used to, but don't get me wrong - it was still good. I had the Mellowterranean, which was a mediterranean spin on pizza, and I liked it. The artichoke dip was also good, and it's just enough for two people. Good pizza chain, but honestly I don't see myself coming back for dinner unless I'm coming back with friends to also try out the new place in Sugarhouse. However, they do have a lunch hour where you can buy single slices, FYI, so I could see myself coming back for just that.

Loved the one in Atlanta and love this one. Ordered Muffaletta bread, spinach salad (with bacon of course) and mellowterranean pizza - my guy and I enjoyed every bite although couldn't finish. Huge beer selection as well. Super friendly and efficient wait staff and good music...what more could you ask for?

My first experience with Mellow Mushroom was in Denver and I was a fan. So when my boyfriend suggested it for date night, I was SO excited. Being that it is new, there was one thing I was expecting for a Saturday night and that was a looong wait. Fortunately for us, it was only a 1 minute wait. Score! Dragon Berry Mojito and Lemon Head were the drinks of choice. They did not disappoint! We also started off with their Pretzels and Turbodog cheese. Holy smokes! That was fan-fricken-tastic!! We had the Buffalo Chicken for our pizza. It was really great. All of the flavors went together soo well. The only complaint my boyfriend has was that it should be a thinner crust. He says he would definitely order it again though. Overall our experience at Mellow Mushroom tonight was a great success!!

Great fun for groups or going solo. Kid friendly, but great for adults. Food is tasty and the best gluten free pizza around (but I would say the same about the regular pizzas). Big salads. Full bar. Lots of TV's so it's a great place to watch the game. Excellent price points. Something for everyone from hoagies to pizza to big salads.

This place is way over priced and the service was not great. I'll give them points for creative dishes but honestly not worth the price and wait. Their beer selection is excellent but slightly pricey.

I hope to one day change this review but we walked in and waited for a host to seat us. After five minutes past with still no sign of any help (and also looking at the several tables that had old food and messes on them) we walked out and went somewhere else.

This place is a national chain, but a pretty good one. I shouldn't like the pizza: it has a thicker crust than I usually like, and the bottom is coated in cornmeal, which is weird and messy. But somehow I always enjoy it anyway. My usual choice for lunch is the Enlightened Spinach Salad and a slice of cheese pizza. Service has gotten pretty good now that a regular crew has settled in. They have a pretty good beer list and a nice bar area. They also just opened up patio seating in the plaza outside, though as of last week they were still waiting for the license that would allow them to serve alcohol out there. Once they get that and it cools off, this will be a great place to sit and have a beer and a pizza. But there are a lot of pizza places and brewpub-type restaurants in Sugar House, and it will be interesting to see if this one survives the competition.

The vegan Thai pizza is one of the best pizzas I've had, vegan or not. Absolutely delightful and delicious. Great place to watch a game or hang with friends.

You can not go wrong here. The food is so wonderful and tasty. The staff are all happy and upbeat. And the owners make the place. I will go just to say hi to them but the food so makes it

How have I lived life without Mellow Mushroom! This is by far one of the best pizza places in Salt Lake City! Have been a few times now and the food has not disappointed me yet! This will be a new regular place for sure!

I absolutely loved the place. I would recommend going and getting the Portabella mushroom munchie as an appetizer. The Dough they use for the pizza is a great blend of White, Wheat, Spring Water and Molasses. Actually One of my favorite pizza places because of there dough. I split a pizza in half with the Thai dye and Red Potato. The Thai Dye was really good. The Red Potato Pie was one of the best Potato slices i have had in Salt Lake (Next to the Hipster nest of the PIE HOLES Potato Bacon). I thought it funny that another pizza place decided to compete in the Sugar house Pizza frenzy phenomena that is going on. None the less tho, the Hippie, Stoner, "Family" vibe should fit in well with the Burner, Pot smoking Yogians that seem to have taken over Sugarhood over the past several years.

I've walked by this place a few times and have always seen a bunch of suits walking out and thought it wouldn't be my kind of place. Finally went in for lunch yesterday and I was shocked at how good it is. Good music, great pizza, huge beer selection!

By far our favorite place!!! Service is stays amazing! Management and owners are absolutely top notch! Beer cheese is my favorite with the pretzels. Anything from Calzone to Pizza is good! Highly recommend the buffalo chicken pizza or the steak calzone!

The pizza was really some of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend the magical mystery tour. The combination of mushrooms and pesto and jalapeños was awesome. Sweet pizza man!

The pizza here is amazing and everyone is off their rocker. Crust is soft and chewy, toppings are quality and don't overload the pizza, the salads are fresh (get the lil size with your pizza...still a substantial size) Full bar? Wine? Beer? I grew up in Atlanta frequenting the Mellow....get with it Salt Lake...step away from overpriced arrogant Este and towards Mellow Mushroom. It's just better.

  • Michelle T.

Really good! Good beer selection and served very cold. The chicken wings were very good and the red potato bacon pizza was unique and yummy. It took a while to be initially greeted but then service was good. Everyone working there seemed to genuinely enjoy the food and were very friendly.

Hark! Amidst the banal sea of new urbanist diaherria lining Salt Lake City's 2100 block lays an oasis of counterculture where the real freaks can get down. Surely a place called Mellow Mushroom- trading as it does in the pastiche imagery of drug culture and psychedelics- is more than a sub par pizza joint masking incompetence with an overplayed motif of Vibe-age. What's that you say? The decor feels like a Nixonian Anti Drug propaganda's curious cousin's vision of what being on psychedelics is like? The pizza tasting not much better than what said cousins church going aunt cooks up for her after bible study? Is there nowhere for us freaks in this mountain town?

Excellent pizza, fun atmosphere, and attentive and friendly service. As other reviewers have pointed out, the pricing isn't exactly comparable to Little Caesars but you get what you pay for. I'd gladly pay $13 for a quality pizza that wasn't shipped in on a freezer truck. The house special pizza was delicious as was the shiitake mushroom one.

This place is in the middle of a 2 and 3-star rating. If I was grading this without grade inflation, I'd give it a C+. Several of the appetizers look good and it may be worth returning to try them. We ordered a small house salad, which was a decent size between 2 people, and plenty of salad for 1. We then had the house special pizza. The pizza was okay. Too much sauce, not enough cheese. I read a few complaints about the service, but our experience was just fine. To be fair, we were there at 5 pm on a Friday night and it wasn't busy. They have a nice bar area with a full bar, which is always a plus. Music selection is strange. . . everything from your classic rock and stoner music to "Sexual Healing" (really). Finally, for those of us with kids: the high chair had wheels! I am surprised that a chain that has been around for awhile continues to use these. They're a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I can't wait to actually try the pizza here. I planned a group dinner for 16 people here on a Sunday night & called a few days before to make reservations. First they told me that they don't take reservations and then they said they would take my name, phone number, and number in my party anyway. When we arrived, we waited 15 minutes and then were told we could only be seated if they split our party in 3. This just wasn't acceptable for us and we were lucky to be able to get our entire party in at another fantastic pizza place a few doors down without a wait. I'll write a new review once I actually get the chance to try the pizza here and I will be back but I am a little disappointed that they took my information down if they don't take reservations. They should be a little more honest. I think they just took my information down because they didn't want to loose the business but it would have been better if they didn't since they didn't do anything with it.

Liked the location and decor. We tried the Half Mighty Meaty and Half Buffalo Chicken Pizza (Great),we also had the Mushroom Appetizer (it was good, the cheese didn't melt, it could've been heated up more). Also tried their soup, it was good.

Have you ever had such a bad experience that you don't even want to write a review for it? Here's the thing, the food was good, but good food does not make up for the absolute horrible service. And really that's it. Our whole experience was tainted by all around bad service and unresponsive management. I don't feel like paying $25 to have a bad time. I won't be going back.

As a vegan reviewing this business I can whole heartedly say my socks were knocked off and my mind was blown and I left with my hunger completely satisfied! The tofu hoagie and the mega veggie were our picks, and it was delicious. Tofu was well prepared. Sauce and crust was phenomenal. Even our meat eater friend was pleased of course. The cinnamon sugar pretzels with honey were splendid. The beer list is amazing, and they stay open way late! The service was excellent! Justin was our server, and he was the most attentive and friendly while we watched most other servers stand around. When they made an error with our pizza they were above and beyond friendly about it, fixed it, and took it off the bill! The decor is beyond jaw-dropping. So many things to look at, there's a large petrified wood table with the pi symbol for legs and the detail on the table top is amazing. Looks like there are lots of places to hide away and drink with adults while the kids are seated far away. I will definitely be back here lot. A five star review, no hesitation.

  • Prissy S.

My husband and I decided to try out this place since it was recommended by a friend. We arrived at around 8pm and this place was super crowded. It took us at least 45 min to get a table and be seated. So not too much fun there specially with kids. If they take reservations I highly recommend making one. We got the House Special pizza, which was good but not worth the $25 price tag for a large. It was enough for 2 adults and a toddler with a couple slices left over to spare. My older child got mac and cheese and apples and seemed to have enjoyed it since she ate it all gone. Parking spots on the streets and adjacent lots was hard to find so we decided to park in the underground garage as someone else had mentioned. Mellow Mushroom will give you a 3 hour validation so you don't pay a dime for it otherwise it will cost you $10 for parking in the underground lot. Would I go back? Not so sure...

    (3)
  • Val W.

We had a great experience there. First of all, the parking structure is NOW OPEN so it's easy to find your way underground and the restaurant is really close to the elevator from parking. Don't let the chain link construction fence put you off. We had friendly service and met the owners. Food was quite good. Drinks were even better and the food came out FAST. We will make this our go to place for calzone. Also I like the pizza better than the Flatbread place by a mile.

    (4)
  • Ryan T.

Food was great, we had the Maui Wowie. Although the service for the second time was very slow and our calzone was not cooked fully. It was like eating raw dough. This was only my second time here but our order was was made wrong both times and we had to send it back. The servers in both scenarios didn't really seem to care about the incorrect orders. I was not impressed and I don't plan on going back.

I went here last week and I'm not really a pizza person but this place is beyond amazing the waitress was on top of it and we had a party of 17 so she had plenty on her plate to work with. The ingredients seemed really fresh and tasted great. You pay for what you get and I'll gladly pay for this place again.

  • Davin C.

My wife and I decided to give this place a shot since it just opened and is close to home. We thought it must be good as it just opened in an area that already has several pizza places within a few blocks, the owners must be pretty damn confident. We are often about atmosphere and experience as much as the food. There was nothing fancy, new, or exciting about the ambiance. The atmosphere wasn't the only thing mediocre. We both got small pizzas and they were really nothing special. After our first slice we knew we would probably never come back. We have eaten at Flatbread Neapolitan next door twice and we would have much rather eaten there. While they also aren't stellar they're the better option if you want pizza on that block.

    (2)
  • Amanda S.

The pizza was good, but the service was awful, I spent 10 minutes trying to order a pitcher, after I finally did it took another 10 minutes to the waitress go back to the table to order our food but never brought us the beer, I had to ask again because she forgot, and after another 5 minutes she came back asking what kind of beer we wanted AGAIN. I don't think I', ever coming back, not worth the wait!!

    (2)
  • Jon S.

I ordered the Maui Wowie and my friend ordered the house special. The small pizza was bigger than I expected, so I felt better about the $14 price - but in the end it was still overpriced. The food was okay at best. The Maui Wowie had too many bold flavors competing for attention without complementing each other the way I had hoped. The house special was basically a supreme pizza. I frankly would have preferred Pizza Hut.

    (2)
  • Kevin O.

I was happily greeted, rapidly seated and approached, efficiently served both a delicious beverage and a delectable hoagie, and felt welcome and treated well for the price I paid. Highly recommended! Will be here often for my lunch breaks!

    (4)
  • Amanda M.

I went in late on night 45 min before the restaurant was closed. So I wasn't expecting the best service and it wasn't. The Maui wowie pizza was delicious though. I think the place has good potential but with flatbread, sl pizza and pasta, and este right around the corner they will have to rely on much more then just good food. Give them a couple months to figure it out and I'm sure it will be a different story.

  • Jo R.

This place rocks the local pizza place like no other I have ever had! The Asian wings are sweet and spicy and have haunted my dreams so much I had to go back a week later for more! The unusual menu of topping combos are worth bringing extra friends with you so you can have a slice of them ALL. The cosmic karma was a zippy surprise and I did not miss the meat..and the Wholly shiitake pie was not wat I expected it to be...it was way better..I even added some ground beef and banana peppers for extra kick the next vist and it was even more AMAZING than the 1st time (as was offered on menu). Btw...I usually toss out the crust of any pizza ....not these crusts! They are worth the extra carbs!

I have had the opportunity to dine at Mellow Mushroom several times now but have not had a chance to do a review. Wow......fabulous! I have tried several pizzas and apps.....my fav is the magic mystery tour with shrooms and jalapeño so good. We have done take out and gone in for beers. We have had our 1year old with us most of the time. She loves it! Loves the decor and the fun staff. Her favorite is the Huge bunny (one of the 2002 Olympic mascots). It is also nice to go in without the babe to socialize and have a break. Music is always fun. I have seen some complaints about it taking a long time to receive food but one has to realize that everything is made to order and the pizza dough is made by hand and baked in awesome pizza ovens.. I think there is a notation in their menu alerting you to this. Just have another beer and relax! The pizzas have always come out fresh and piping hot. We are glad to have such a dynamic, unique restaurant close to us....we feel comfortable with our baby and on a date night.

THE BEST VEGGIE PIZZA AND PIZZA I HAVE HAD FOR YEARS!!! Soooo amazing, had to even compliment the chef in person. I never do that. My friend was visiting from Denver and said it was even better than the one there. Well worth the trip!

So delicious! Such a fun atmosphere and the food is yummy!!! I got the Mushroom Club Hoagir and my fiancé got the Funky Q pizza and we LOVED both! There desserts are to die for! We got the Maryjane brownie and it was the best we've had!

We went for a work lunch today. We got there around 1130... the service was SLOW (think our waitress was maybe the host... and if not then they really need to work on training their staff). When the food arrived she obviously didn't know her pizzas or her sandwiches, handing the wrong ones to the wrong customers. One person actually got a wrong order and it took forever for her to get another one! Think the worst part for me was when I got water poured all over my cell phone! I work part time in the food industry and things like this usually result in a manager intervention and some kind of compensation, however, all I got was a "sorry", "you want some rice" and "is your phone okay". The place is nice, great music and the food is delicious.

We found this place by chance, happened to be working on the renovation of the fountain right in front of this restaurant so we gave it a try. I have to say probably the best pizza ever.. it's the pie without the greasy. . Crust is amazing, and atmosphere is laid back, yet clean and organized. .the service is super friendly and attentive. I will be coming back after our work outside is done!

After hearing how great this place was from fans of this place who go to the one in Arizona, I was really excited- and really disappointed when my food came out less that ideal. Cold food that was overpriced. Will say the ambiance and decor was fun, but the staff was reminiscent of a visit to lagoon.. Loud and obnoxious and too young to serve alcohol. Will try again when I'm out of state.

This restaurant caters to all crowds..Great family friendly atmosphere and excellent bar area! The food was very good! We had their mushroom and jalapeño pizza with feta and pesto and it was absolutely delicious! The gluten free pizza was excellent too...the crust was really good which is hard to find. The wings were cooked perfect and we had a stuffed mushroom appetizer that I would most definitely recommend - it's the not traditional heavy stuffed mushrooms but was light and drizzled with excellent balsamic! Yum. And for the sinful dessert lovers, their gooey brownie Sunday is amazing!!!! Sinful.

Love Mellow Mushroom! This is the best pizza in Utah. The Red Skin Potato pizza is amazing and the dragon berry mojito is to die for. Whatever the crust is made of makes the pizza. The staff is extra friendly and makes sure you have a great time while you are there.

I was very disappointed by our experience at Mellow Mushroom this evening. I started off by ordering a very watered-down Old Fashioned, decided on the barbecue chicken pizza that they call the Funky Q Chicken, and didn't see it until about 45 minutes later. While the presentation looks good, the texture and flavors were severely lacking. The crust was tough and chewy, and on a medium six slice pizza, only had about 6 small pieces of chicken with maybe half a strip of chopped up bacon topped with a thin swirl of a fairly tasty barbecue sauce. The sauce, while flavorful, was in such small supply, I could barely enjoy it. The taste of the doughy and tough crust was overpowering all of the other flavors. So in summary with a lackluster medium (10-12") pizza, I was even more disappointed at the price. $19.50 for that? I even saw tee shirts for sale for $18.95. Can't say I've ever been to a pizza place where the medium pizzas cost more than the shirts. The Funky Q Chicken isn't even the priciest pizza on the menu. After this first experience, my disappointment gives me no plans on returning and I advise you to look elsewhere for a better gourmet pizza. Literally anywhere else.

We were so excited for a new pizza place in the valley but were sadly disappointed. Service was slow. Ambiance is cheesy. We ordered a salad that came out with iceberg lettuce, a few slivers of carrots mushy tomatoes and brown avocado which we paid extra for. They were happy to remake the salad, but even the fresher version was AWFUL. We went for the mega veggie pizza with daiya cheese. I make FAR better homemade versions at home that don't cost $23 for a medium pizza that is vegetarian. Needless to say we won't be back. We will stick to the other new restaurants in the area that offer far better cuisine.

  • Yvette T.

The food was average. The service below average. Long wait for food. We received a bowl of salad to share without plates. Had to get our own. ordered a pizza with no black olives and received a pizza with black olives. Doubt we will go back.

  • J. B.

This location is still hard to get to with the construction. The restaurant itself is a large space and there are plenty of helpful workers to ensure you have a good experience. Overall we thought the prices were high for what you get. For example, one of the pizzas we tried was the Funky Q Chicken, a version of a BBQ Chicken. A medium pizza (6 slices) was about $20 and there was one piece of chicken per slice and not enough BBQ sauce for the pizza. In general, the pizza and food was just okay. It won't be a destination spot for us.

Okay this was tough for me to write. We did go opening weekend so I would expect it being a little chaotic. Our party arrived and promptly notified the hostess of our group number and that there was a wheelchair in our group (me). We then proceeded to wait for over 45 minutes because they couldn't find a table to accommodate me. Seriously?! We watched them give a table to another group of individuals who could have easily sat at a high top. This location has lots, and I mean lots of high top tables which are not exactly suitable for use by the wheelchair bound. I understand if we didn't let them know of the need right away but we did- and the planning was poor on their part. As a person in a chair I am getting pretty sick of hearing "Oh sorry we don't have much to accommodate you". Well if that is the case figure out who to seat others who can at the high tops. Ok enough of this rant... Food was pretty good- we had the Red Potato Pie and I would recommend that- It was super delish. I also enjoyed the large beer selection and found some good craft beers. I will give them another chance but I will not return again if I made to feel like a nuisance.

Best customer service i have ever experienced. The pizza i ordered was half plain cheese and half holy shiitake. It came out uneven favoring the plain and without me saying one word they told me they were making me an extra one to go. Also the pizza is pretty delicious!

    (4)
  • Maryann M.

Good food, great beer list. We shared a Holy Shiitake pizza. It was good, really cheesy. For being a mushroom pizza could have used more mushrooms. A little too rich--with so much cheese tastes almost buttery. Was hard to eat more than one piece. Wait time was a bit too long.

The food at this place is super tasty. So far I have had the bruschetta, the buffalo chicken pizza, and a calzone (pepperoni) and all have been very delicious and made from fresh ingredients. The decorations and the atmosphere are really fun too. I think everyone should try this place out if they're looking for good pizza for a good price.

the food is fine. very similar to wasatch pizza with less creative specialities. will do OK if their wait staff doesn't kill off the customers. long story short, my friend ended up with hot curry soup in her lap, on her side and in her purse (new purse). It looked like hot vomit. Staff brought a few napkins and left us to clean the mess. They were taken aback when we asked for wet rags. then two of the six meals came out easily twenty minutes before the other meals came out. the kids are 4. they are hungry. the pizza comes out wrong. so they bring a free kids mini pizza 15;minutes later but leave the overcooked wrong pizza for the adults to knaw on. we all took it as a sense of adventure- a new restaurant workking the kinks out.,but I'm sure a little surprised that there was no manager over to say sorry for our mishaps. and that our meals were all full price

Tried out Mellow Mushroom tonight. Ambiance is fun but LOUD. Could hardly hear the other people at our table. Service was good. We ordered the pretzels as an appetizer. They came with mustard, marinara and beer cheese dipping sauces. Very good, soft, salty pretzels. We also tried the holy shiitake pizza-divine, Thai pizza-super fresh and flavorful, and the Melloternaium pizza-the least exciting of the bunch but had a good white tzatziki dipping sauce with it. Everyone loves the brownie desserts too. They have a good sized gluten free menu as well. Definitely worth checking out! We are excited to come back and try more.

HOLY SHIITake!!!!I Its a magical mushroom multi-mouthgasmic experience of deliciousness! In the generic world of pizza, its nice to have a new unique bold taste to it! $25 for the large did seem a bit pricey though...$13 beer pitchers too! Decor in here is all mushrooms and giant rabbit...owners must have been tripping on something during the design process...love it!

Been here twice and loved both times. The pizza crust is a great balance between crispy and chewy. The buffalo wings are great as is the bread with the olive tapenade (can't remember the name for it). I have tasted the buffalo chicken pizza, the Mediterranean one with tzatziki sauce, and the one with the jerk chicken. They were all good. The salads are huge and delicious. It's a bit pricey but I like that they use some organic ingredients. I will definitely be back.

I was disappointed with this one. It was my first visit and I was expecting a lot because of all the hype I have heard from my friends. Now don't get me wrong, the service was phenomenal, but I feel it was overpriced mediocre pizza. The BBQ chicken pizza was somehow overly salty, the pretzels tasted as if they were made from the same dough as the pizza, and the bruschetta had too many toppings to eat easily. I was also thrown off by how they used feta instead of mozzarella on the bruschetta. I might give it another try, but doubtful.

  • Melissa T.

I am just confused. What is southern style pizza? Did I just order food or some drugs? Am I in the modern version of TGI Fridays? Why are there bicycle wheels on the ceiling? Mediocre food. Lame excuse for soft pretzel appetizer. Antie Annes at the airport does it better. Tasteless pizza. We ordered the holy shiitake. What was that weird cream sauce? Unpalatable salad dressings on mostly iceberg. Pros: Beer was cold. Location is good for kids and the kids menu had a lot of choices. I don't think I will be in a hurry to come back. Next time I am going to Este.

Had the Maui Wowie pizza and it was a good combination of ingredients, the crust was great, and adding banana peppers to your not-so-typical hawaiian pizza was a great surprise. Had the wings, mild and some sort of asian spicy, both flavors were great. Service was on point and the prices were pretty fair. Cool spot with really entertaining decor and furniture.

On vacation, I love to experiment with a variety of restaurants and a place has to be really good for me to go again instead of trying someplace new. But Mellow Mushroom was so good that I went two days in a row! And got the same things both times! Our first visit we did a half & half combo - half Holy Shiitake (a generous heap of shiitakes, garlic aioli, cheeses, black truffle oil) and Kosmic Karma (red sauce, spinach, feta, etc) and a pitcher of quality beer. Good Lawd! Does life get any better than that?! Me and my pals were speechless the first few minutes as we munched on the delicious pizza and drank quality grog and had some laughs. Both kinds of pizza were great - but that Holy Shiitake is something to remember! It was worth going back the next day and getting the same exact thing. Can't wait to go back on my next trip to Utah - or back East! Looks like there's a ton of locations in the Southeast too! Friends + Pizza + Beer is the perfect combo in my book.

Great service with an awesome menu. Gluten free and low carb options make it easy to find something for everyone in your group. I recommend the stuffed portobello mushroom from the appetizer menu. Stuffed with artichokes and feta cheese you don't need anything else!

The holy shittake pie is the best pizza I've had here in SLC. We ordered the Mighty Meaty pizza and also the Thai Dye pizza. The meaty pizza tastes like any other meaty pizza. The Thai dye has sweet chili sauce that I wasn't a huge fan of but the fresh cucumber were a nice crunch to the pizza. I also ordered the wasatch polygamy porter nitro beer and it wasn't Guinness. It's a little sweeter, which isn't my cup of tea. Definitely order the holy shittake pie! You won't regret it

Okay, I enjoyed the quirky interior with cool wooden mushrooms and I also liked the fun hippie/peace/tie dye theme. The menu is large and the name of the pizzas were funny like Holy Shiitake! Or Thai Dye. The employees seemed happy and pleasant. We decided to do half mega veggie and half holy shittake. The waitress was raving about the shiitake and I thought it sounded really delicious. Boy, it may have been the worst pizza I've tried. I grew up on the east coast (NYC and NJ) so think of NY style pizza...nope, you won't find it here. I've been to Italy and I've been to decent pizza parlors in Los Angeles and San Diego and I really have never had a slice of pizza where I couldn't finish the slice without gagging! The garlic aioli that was obviously drizzled on from a tube was so nasty, I think that's what really topped the horrific taste; it tasted like mayo smothered on top of the pizza! I've had garlic aioli but I think it needs to be eaten in moderation with a very small amount. It tasted like I was just eating bread with mayo. Grosssss. I had a slice of the mega veggie and that too was lacking freshness. It tasted like a frozen pizza I bought from the grocery store for a couple bucks but instead, we had spent $31 on this large pie! Everything seemed soggy. I love Sugar House and I'm glad they re did the area! And if I were to go to Mellow Mushroom again, it would only be for a beer or two.

Salads are decently sized for a starter. Tossed salad was nothing special but the tomatoes and mushrooms were fresh and tasty. Tried two pizzas: Maui Wowie & the Magical Mystery Tour. The Maui Wowie was hands down the better of the two. The combination of the pesto base with the pineapples, jerk chicken, Apple smoked bacon was scrumptious...they throw banana peppers on top to give it just the right amount of heat. F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!! Crust is also amazing! As Arnold Schwarzenegger would say, "I'll be back!"

Love this place. So glad they opened one in Salt Lake. The pretzels are always amazing and the pizza is creative and delicious! Good beer selection, too.

I've been here three times and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. Delicious salads and amazing pizza! On this last visit I built my own with bacon, avocado, onions, and black olives...it was extremely tasty! I recommend sharing a small with another person unless you're really hungry.

I've had the opportunity to eat at the mellow Mushroom twice now and both times I was fairly impressed. The food was unique and tasted pretty good. I rate this place a 4 because there are just a few small details that could use some attention. 1. First off I'm the type a guy that loves ranch with everything, especially pizza!! Please make your own salad dressings... This place had both terrible ranch and bleu cheese. They both tasted bought from a grocery store. I know it's just ranch but those little details go a long way. 2. The water they serve tastes extremely salty. Almost to the point you can't drink it. I had a beer(which was amazing I must say) but I need water with any meal and that water was terrible on both occasions! 3. The service was a bit slower than expected for how late in the evening it was, and they were not very busy! It wasn't terrible but could have been stepped up a notch! Again these are just minor details. Overall the place is great and so is the food. I will go back and I would recommend it to others!

I really struggled with this rating because I think my fellow yelpers are a little harsh here, but at the same time I'm just not sure if I'll ever be back, therefore Mellow Mushroom gets an "A-OK" I was really turned off by the lack of stars and poor reviews on Yelp prior to checking this place out, but I had a coupon for a free pizza so I thought "why the hell not?" I'm glad we went because the food was decent, although the service was just alright and the prices were a tad high for the quality of the food. Agree with other yelpers that it does give off a chain-y feel, which I'm not a fan of (but chains seem to do just fine in Utah by the looks of the crowds at places like Cheesecake Factory and Olive Garden). Unless I get more free pizzas, not sure there's anything here that really draws me back, given the plethora of options in Sugar House now. They have a very good beer selection, decent bar seating, and TVs if you're looking to watch a game. We started with the wings which were baked and tasted ok, but a little on the dry side and not quite worth $1.10 a wing. We then had the Oh Shittake and Mellowterranean pizzas, and they were both delicious! The specialty pizzas were pretty unique and of course you can build your own. I thought they were tasty but I'm also not a pizza expert by any means :\

    (2)

  • Jennifer H.

  • Sam S.

Liked the location and decor. We tried the Half Mighty Meaty and Half Buffalo Chicken Pizza (Great),we also had the Mushroom Appetizer (it was good, the cheese didn't melt, it could've been heated up more). Also tried their soup, it was good.

I went here last week and I'm not really a pizza person but this place is beyond amazing the waitress was on top of it and we had a party of 17 so she had plenty on her plate to work with. The ingredients seemed really fresh and tasted great. You pay for what you get and I'll gladly pay for this place again.

    (5)

Great food, excellent service. Atmosphere killer and the beer selection is really good. I would recommend and we will go back soon. The parking and construction sucks, not really sure what door to use but once you get in, it is well worth the effort.

I absolutely love this place. They have by far the best pizza I've ever had. Most pizza places you find are pretty greasy, but this place is definitely not.

Great food and great company. Owners are amazing. Service was prompt and fantastic. The food is really good. They pay attention and make sure that you are always taken care of. No shortcuts and did I mention that the owners are awesome?!?!?

The food was average. The service below average. Long wait for food. We received a bowl of salad to share without plates. Had to get our own. ordered a pizza with no black olives and received a pizza with black olives. Doubt we will go back.

Last night we had about 20 people from out of town and mellow mushroom stepped up! The food was amazing the service was on point. The whole thing ran so smoothly and that can be tough with such a big group. Did I mention the food was awesome?

Had the Maui Wowie pizza and it was a good combination of ingredients, the crust was great, and adding banana peppers to your not-so-typical hawaiian pizza was a great surprise. Had the wings, mild and some sort of asian spicy, both flavors were great. Service was on point and the prices were pretty fair. Cool spot with really entertaining decor and furniture.
